ENVISION ENGAGE EMBARK

Did you know NYC has the most segregated schools in the country?

IntegrateNYC was started by 8 students and their teacher in 2014, 60 years after Brown v. Board of Education, the landmark Supreme Court case that unanimously ruled that racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional.

To fight back against segregation that persists today, youth leaders have…

  • Articulated a powerful vision for meaningful integration, the 5Rs of Real Integration framework

  • Engaged students across NYC in the movement, advocated for student-designed solutions, shifted city-wide policy, and demanded real youth power in decision making spaces

8 years later, youth leaders continue to follow in the footsteps of the original 8 students by advocating for visionary legislation, listening to their peers in schools, and training as community organizers.

In May, IntegrateNYC turns 8!

Join us for a virtual celebration on May 19th from 6:30-8:00pm EDT

as we celebrate 8 years,
honor the original 8 students,
and elevate youth power for another 8 years and more!
